If you have been following BrightySkin (or Dasangkhoe) for a long time, you may have known that I love having toners in my routine. Despite many debates from other beauty bloggers or dermatologists about the purposes of toner in the whole routine, I still keep on using at least two types of toners daily. One is the clearing toner (which contains a small ratio of chemical exfoliators AHA/BHA not to excessively exfoliate the skin while using on daily basis) and the other is the moisturizing toner (which contains nourishing ingredients and humectants).
The way I use toners can be quite similar to the 7-toner trend in Korea at the beginning of the 2019. However, I layer the moisturizing toner between the application of serums and cream to maximize the moisture lock and retention. By doing this way, my skin absorbs products better, becomes glowy and plump without any acne in the whole three passing years.
Following the article about Why do we need to care about Vitamin C intake, we also heard enough recommendations about AHA, BHA, Vitamin C, Retinoids, etc in dealing with acne-prone and oily skin types, or in fighting against aging after the 30s. Facing the challenge of adding all these goodies into our daily skincare routine, we are struggling to remind ourselves to use AHA/BHA every two days and remember to add Retinoids in between or wonder how to use more Vitamin C at night time, but still feel unsure this combination can overload the skin.
The answer to this dilemma situation has been provided by Cosrx with only one product in just one step – Cosrx Refresh ABC Daily Toner (AHA, BHA, Vitamin C). The born of Cosrx Refresh ABC Daily Toner in 2019 similar to Pixi Glow Tonic has brought to us one budgetary option to replace the luxurious choice of Biologique Recherche Lotion P50, with the much simpler ingredients list.
How Cosrx Refresh ABC Daily Toner can help to ease out our messy skincare schedule? With the combination of AHA, BHA and Vitamin C in one bottle, we can use this toner in both day and night time without over-exfoliate the skin but still bring about the brightening effect. Moreover, Cosrx Refresh ABC Daily Toner will not become the barrier for us to use with Retinol in the next step. Because Glycolic Acid (a form of AHA) should be used at pH 3.83, Betaine Salicylate (a form of BHA) best at pH 3.8 to 4.2, and Ascorbyl Glucoside (the more stable form of L-Ascorbic Acid ) at all range of pH level, this toner will maintain the pH level of your skin at around 3.8 to 4.2, which will create the suitable environment to add on Retinol (pH 5.5 – 6.0) in the next step.
Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Hylocereus Undatus Fruit Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Water, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethyl Hexanediol, Sodium Lactate, Water, Glycolic Acid, Allantoin, Panthenol, Adenosine, Betaine Salicylate, Ascorbyl Glucoside
USAGE OF COSRX REFRESH ABC DAILY TONER
As other clearing toners, Cosrx Refresh ABC Daily Toner will also be used as the first toner right after cleansing face. Some people may use it with a cotton pad, some others like me can apply with a bare clean hand by patting toning liquid all over the face and let it sink in for 30 seconds. After this step, we can go to the step with moisturizing toner or serum.
Cosrx Refreshing ABC Daily Toner was bought in ALAND Store Korea while I traveled there at the end of 2019. The price is approximately 28 USD/280ml (9.46 fl.oz). Comparing with the normal price for a toner bottle, the price for Cosrx Refreshing ABC Daily Toner is pretty high.
Cosrx Refreshing ABC Daily Toner has a really crystally pure, minimally-designed and plastic package with a basic cap as any other toner. While using this product, I face no trouble or annoyance, quite okay about it.
Cosrx Refreshing ABC Daily Toner owns a clear and clean liquid just as water. Without any scent and absorb pretty quickly into skin after several patting moves, you may not need to concern about any heavy feeling after use.
I’ve been using several clearing toners, such as: Pixi Glow Tonic, Missha Time Revolution Clear Toner, By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water and this Cosrx Refreshing ABC Daily Toner. In general, I feel okay with all of them, except Missha Time Revolution Clear Toner has made me a huge impression of smoothen my skin texture after 10-day using. So in this case, Cosrx Refreshing ABC Daily Toner also brings about the refreshing and clean feeling on my skin after use. I used this toner up after 2 months even applying two layers of iit everyday twice without using cotton pads. So to me, this is quite a saving option for toner.
Somebody may expect the purging effect after using some doses of exfoliating acids like AHA in the ingredients list of this toner. To me this effect is quite mild and only can give a hand to clear up your pores in the daily routine, not to be used to cure blind pimples in a short time like other specific AHA essence or liquids.
Considering to buy this product again or not, in fact, I rarely buy any products twice consecutively because I always wanna try new things. But with somebody doesn’t have the habit like mine, this Cosrx Refreshing ABC Daily Toner can be a long time friend.
As summer already arrived, hope this Cosrx Refreshing ABC Toner can be one of your option in daily routine.
Much love xxx
